I found out that Yuwie is still down for maintenance, so I added another entry to my blog.
I have a very good friend whose business is advertising, graphic design, and marketing.
While talking with him on the phone yesterday, he gave me some advice about how to get traffic to your website.
I'd like to share it with you, in hopes that I can help make a difference in your business.
I only ask that you comment this blog if you applied this technique, and let me know if it generated more traffic.
So, here it is...
If you're going to post a jpeg photo on your site, first rename it to something relevant to your product (or something popular - more about that later) before uploading it.
Regardless of what is IN the photo, give it a name that will cause your photo to be displayed whenever someone searches for a particular phrase.
Using the filename assigned by your camera causes you to miss out on another advertising keyword opportunity.
Jeez, I hope I'm wording this correctly...
OK, so now I'll explain the whole "popular" thing...
Let's say you're selling funny greeting cards.
People who like funny things are constantly searching for the latest funny video.
Whatever that video may be called during that particular craze, name any jpeg that name.
Out of curiosity, someone is bound to click the photo...end up on your site...and, if they're "into" funny stuff, maybe they'll shop for a card.
What's the latest news story?
Temporarily name your jpeg something that relates to that, and re-upload it.
Are you seeing this?
I hope this was useful advice.
It sure made me slap my forehead, and say "duh"!
Have a great day...
God bless,
Rob
